CERTIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Alex has completed level one  training in Lagree, and is currently working on her 200hr Hatha Yoga certification.  She also holds  a degree in Food & Nutrition.
 
WHAT TO EXPECT IN MY CLASS

I love challenging my mental and physical limits; yoga and Lagree allow me to do just that. As someone who is naturally introverted, teaching is both a new and exciting journey for me. While I may be quiet off the mat, I bring a focused and mindful energy to every class, creating a welcoming space where students can connect deeply with their practice. I’m passionate about guiding others through movement that strengthens both body and mind, helping them discover their own resilience and calm.

HOW I GOT INTO YOGA & FITNESS

Actually, a woman I used to work with was a yoga teacher and she brought me to a few classes and I fell in love with the practice. 

MY PRACTICE

I love all fitness, but have a real passion for yoga. I practice yoga every day in studio or at home. I’ve only been practicing for a couple of years, but since I’ve incorporated strength training into my routine I’ve really up-levelled! Now  I do Lagree 4 x per week.

About Maureen

Maureen is a self-taught yoga practitioner & teacher,  whose teaching journey began with her teaching her first class in Sarajevo shortly after the war in 1997. Having lived there for three years with her husband and family, she  began offering free public yoga classes to both locals and expats, nurturing healing and community through yoga.

With 15 years of professional dance training and a decade of martial arts practice later as an adult, Maureen brings a unique blend of grace, strength, and discipline to her teaching. In 2010, she founded iGita Yoga Studio, and earlier, in 2007, she launched Some Like It Hot, reflecting her passion for creating vibrant spaces for health and wellness. Maureen’s dedication to yoga and movement has been a constant throughout her life, inspiring those around her to discover their own path to wellbeing.
